I love them they are absolutely awesome sure footed as you could ask in an auto tranie car with high stall.

I'm now using the NTO5R and I love it as well.

Word of caution in the rain don't go on the expressway or over 35 mph do not trust them in the rain.

I ran them on the rear of my Supercharged SRT8's with decent success.

I will not run them on the C6.

IMO they are designed for Straight line acceleration in dry conditions.

I am going to try the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. From the reviews, this seems to be one of the best all-around grip, cornering, dry/wet control tires available

What power level are you guys running? Looking for a good sticky street tire, and they are the only ones that make a 315 in a 20" tire...I am 800+

Default Tires Tires Tires....which one should I ........

I'm running a 700 RWHP C6 (Supercharged/Corsa/etc. etc).....and need tires soon. Replaced front brakes and relized I have a Camber problem and ruined the front tires. I want run flats in a 300-315 X 35-19" for back and 245 X 35-18" fronts.

I have a hard time hooking the tires but want an all around type tire. don't drive in the rain unless caught off guard so dry conditions are 90% of my use. Don't even kid about ice and snow!

Any suggestions from the forum woud be appreciated.

675 to the tire on the street on my GTO, I use a drag pack for the track with Mickey Thompson et street on 16 inch rims.

The nto5 are absolutely awesome but not available in 345 so I went with nto5r this time around for vett.

I don't consider any low aspect ratio tire good for the 1/4 or 1/8 track.

They are great on the street sense it more closely resembles road racing.

I should add the nto5r handles curves real well I keep them at 19 ps1 and still curve great. On narrow neighbor hood street I don't use the brakes at 35 mph for 90 degree short turns and they take like they love it.

I have 19" rear wheels and the tech. @ M/T said there tires were not made to work with a manual trans and Nitto said there's would work so I went with the Nitto NTO5R.They work great on the road and get much better traction than the GoodYear run flats. But still not enough tire, but work better than the rest.

I am trying to sell my set and go to 18's. Then will put a 325/40/18 M&H Racemaster on it. Now am running a 416 Stroker, 2200R blower, and nitrous as well...only problem is these cars still have no drivetrain upgrades, so still have to be careful, and no launches.

You might want to consider the 295/45-17 over the 345. My C6 made 850/800 off the bottle. Width isn't near as important. When that torque comes in on the spray, a clean surface and a little flex in the sidewall is key from a roll.

If roll racing, do a rolling 2nd gear burnout for 3-5 seconds. I've had 15 sets of MT's in every size. You'll notice the tread started to get rough and have clumps while street driving. You need to get those off before a roll race.

Car sounds like a beast

Great thoughts, thanks....I have also thought of going to a M/T in a 305/35/20....what do you think of those?

The car is being tuned now...finally got it idling last night.

RPM has many level drivetrain upgrades to handle launches, etc. Have you not seen them?

RPM Transmissions is in Induana and they have upgrades for C6 auto and manual transmission cars including everything from the converter or clutch to the differential output shafts and everything in between.

From what I hear they grip great but like said above only for straight line stuff. I have the Michelin Pilot Super Sports and when it's warm I get traction in 2nd in my Z06. I'd say for yiur power the PSS is perfect.

My apologies, I meant to say RPM Transmission and I believe they are a vendor here.

If they don't have an upgrade tough enough to support your power level, you may want to consider Fighter Jets in lieu of Corvettes...

Peace and good luck!

I forgot to mention that I had the same issue as you, I put this super killer/expensive set of 3 piece GFG rims in a 19/20" size and then started making crazy horse power..... Big mistake!

Had I known that they don't make good rubber in a, at that time (2008) 20" rim i would have never bought them.

I would have taken that money and thrown it into a beefier trans/dif set up, but I didn't know that would be required either when making big power....

SOOOOO..... Long story short, i beefed up my trans/dif and shafts, and ordered a set of 18" rims all the way around. There is a much broader choice of sticky tires and drag radials in an 18" rim than is in a 19 or 20, particularly with the wide rear (325-345/18) requirements. And now run R888's all around, and I can stick a set of drag radials on there and not sweat leaving half of my differential at the starting line or stop light. R-888's are FAR BETTER tires for traction, though they do wear quickly. Not a problem for me as my car is a garage queen that only comes out when a friend of a friend says "his car would drag mine like a fishing lure". Never ends well for the friend's friend.....

Save yourself a ton of frustration and replace your stock trans/dif/shafts and order an 18" wheel set and you'll never have to worry about breaking things after putting on sticky tires. If you want to make your car track specific, a 17" rear will give you tons of options with slicks.

End rant!

Good luck!
