I am new at all of this and been reading horror stories on the LS7 valve guide issues. I recently bought me a one owner 07 z06 with only 30k on it. I am gonna take the heads off here in the next few weeks to have the valves and guides replaced at a local machine shop. My question where at the best deals to get valve guides and guides. What is every ones imput on what all types to get ? Any help would really be appreciated.

I'm sitting here looking at a set of heads off a '08 Z06 with 48k. Intakes are good but exhausts are shot.

When you get the head off check them. You can probably reuse the intakes. Exhaust are not normally reused. I would send them off to one of the specialists.

Before you tear into it you might want to do a search on wiggle test. Your might be O.K.

thanks. Yea ai have been reading its the exhaust valves are the ones that go. The place I was gonna do around here the guy has a graet name for himself and builds drag racing eninges for a professinal team. I have read a little on the wiggle test but thought to just get it done and over with. I dont know too much about this car expect i dont think it has been driven kind of easy and all the maintaince and oil changes has been done at the same dealership since it was about new according to the car fax report i got with the car.
