Default headlight gap

Hey guys, was wondering if someone could give me some tips, advice, etc. Bought my 2012 GS little less than a year ago. Had less thank 3k miles on it and barely used. Didn't noticed until I got home, from out of state pick up, that the driver side headlight has a gap to it. It's not a huge deal and I've been kind of busy lately with other stuff to really have it checked out. So first of all what most likely caused the gap. There is no evidence of the car ever being involved in a wreck. No other gaps on panels or paint changes or anything including under the car. Secondly, would this be cover under warranty? I believe I still have a little time left before it goes out. Lastly, what would most likely be required to fix the problem? I don't necessarily want to do something too extensive to fix it for risk of messing something else up in the process. The rubber seal around the light is intact and still around the light. There is no leak into the housing. The gap is between the housing/gasket and the bumper itself. The passenger side is perfect. Thanks

I've had my bumper off a few times, and on one of those occasions, I was left with a gap. I could not understand why???, because it was perfect beforehand. Yours is much worse than mine was however.
I lifted up on the bumper, and the gap got smaller. I'm not sure why the bumper sagged on that side. I removed the wheel, and the plastic fender liner, and while I was lifting up, I wedged in a few pieces 1/2 " semi rigid rubber behind the bumper, above the crash Styrofoam, so the bumper would stay in the raised position.
That cured the issue.
Maybe when I put the bumper back on, I tightened the holding bolts in the wrong order, thus not tightening up the bumper in the right position.

Your bumper is sagged pretty low, so the bolts etc for that side should be removed, lift it to the correct place, and then tighten up the bolts. You may have to add a few rubber shims, just as I did to get it perfect.
Looking at it closely again...Check to make sure you headlight is sitting as low as possible in it's cradle. Maybe it was removed, and when they re-installed it, the wiring harness is under the headlight assembly, which will not allow the headlight to sit in it's cradle as it should.
You may well have to unloosen the headlight (3 bolts) under the wheel well, and see if that wiring harness is wedged under the light.
If so, you may have to lift the headlight a bit, to get that wiring harness out from under the light, so it can be properly seated.

Good Luck
