Default Tire Size Question

Tires
Stock Front : Off Size
P255/45ZR17 Vs P255/40-ZR17

Stock Rear: Off Size
P285/40ZR17 Vs. P275/40ZR17

Can Someone tell me if these tires can work on a C4-1996 Base Coup.

Before you say this is for the C4 Section, I have been in the C4 room but no Luck. So let me know what I can do. thanks

I doubt this section will offer much, if any, advice on your question.

Call Tire Rack. Perhaps they can help.

Go to one of the tire spec web sites and find the diameter/circumference for both the stock and modified tires. Figure the percentage difference from stock front to stock rear and then modified front to rear. This percentage should remain close to stock to avoid issues.
This is just a guideline. You also need to take careful measurements to determine if they are going to rub. Some tire shops will mount a tire for you and do a test install as long as you don't drive on the new tire. Then you pay your money and take your chances.

From just looking, your modified tires are too short (especially the rear). Try stepping the sizes up 10-20mm to make up for the difference in the shorter aspect ratio.

Best of luck!

Stock was:
Front - P255/45ZR17
Rear - P285/40ZR17

Will the sizes you selected work? They'll work fine they just won't fill the wheel well quite as much. The C4, unlike the C6 isn't really sensitive to tire size. The traction control...aka "Acceleration Slip Regulation (ASR)" wasn't that sophisticated.

A lot of people swap to a 9.5" wide front rim and then run 275s all around.

I'm being told that for the front I can go
GM Stock P255/45ZR17 26 10 17
0.7 Difference
Non Stock P265/40R17 25.3 10 17 -2.7%
………………………………………………………………………………………………………… …………………………………………………..
Non Stock P275/40R17 25.7 10.8 17 -1.2%
0.3 Difference 0.4 Difference
GM Stock P285/40ZR17 26 11.2 17

That sound right without me having to change rims on the front so I can continue to use existing rims.
