Default Header ?

I am currently shopping for a set of headers for my 2012 Grand Sport and while doing so I came across the system described below that are also available and was wondering what the pros/cons were with a system of this design as compared to the usual 4 tubes into a 3" collector.Members and vendors input welcomed and appreciated.

C6 Corvette Equal Length Tri-Y Headers. The Tri-Y Header design take proper exhaust flow to an entirely new level of performance by creating superior exhaust savaging in their 4 into 2 into 1 construction. The exhaust pulses from each individual cylinder are optimized to suck air into the combustion chamber from the intake. This creates a much more efficient power curve giving you better HP and Torque across the entire curve. These Corvette Headers give you much more efficient power and a greater amount of Torque under the curve, making the power more usable and available at a lower RPM. By reducing pumping loses, you increase the exhaust velocity.

PFADT was that design. And it is a good one.

What brand are you talking about getting?

It's really more than just the "tri-Y" setup, it's also about fitment, quality welds, etc.

That's why most of us go with ARH, Kooks, LG, PFADT or other reputable vendors

Seadawg ... They are a set of Pfadt that from what I can tell has been bought out or taken over by new owners so hopefully some of the issues with Pfadt that I read about here in the forum are a thing of the past.Thank you for your input.

Chrysler sold Tri-Ys in their Direct Connection catalog back in the 60's. They were supposed to be good for gains in the mid-range while maybe giving up a little to 4 into 1s on top. Unless there have been changes in technology, that's probably still the case.

Based on what I've seen, the differences between the two are small, but measurable. You probably will get more mid-range with the Tri-Ys and more HP up top with the 4 into 1s, but not enough difference to feel, and probably not enough to affect the performance of the car.

gotcha Yea, I would have went with PFADT, but they were temporarily out of business when I wanted headers.

According to a dyno sheet that is part of the ad the all around performance surpasses the 4 into 1 but I am always somewhat skeptical of dyno sheets attached by the company making them.Price wise they are considerably more so with the replies received so far I will most likely go with a set of the 4 into 1 by one of the big 3 currently producing them.
Thank you all for your feedback
