I have read several post regarding swapping out stock LS3 exhaust for one from a Z06 which to me some advantages exist so with that in mind when purchasing a set of headers for a LS3 wouldn't the same advantages exist in buying a set of Z06 headers as opposed to a set for a LS3.
I'm currently looking at having headers and an X pipe installed on my 2012 M6 GS and would appreciate some pros and cons.
Thanks in advance for replies.

pro: cheaper than aftermarket, meets emissions in CA etc, low price
con: long tubes make double the gains, Chinese headers work great and don't cost much more.
Sorry if my question was misleading so to clarify I was really asking if long tube headers designed for a Z06 would be a better choice for an LS3? Yes I realize the Z06 is an LS7 but based on the fact that members are installing a stock Z06 system on their LS3's I'm thinking if swapping a stock system has some advantages a set of long tubes designed for a LS7 would be a better choice as opposed to a set designed for a LS3.
No, no gain. They are generally the same header, actually. People can argue the small details of primary tube diameter, but they're all the same between LS2/3/7.
Specific-made LS7 headers will have a "D" shaped port matching the exhaust port on the cylinder head.
