Corvette C6 LED Tail Light/Electric Mystery
I had a bulb go out on my rear and decided to replace them with LED replacement bulbs, they're inexpensive and I like the more instantaneous activation.
I installed them in all four tail lights, along with four 6 Ohm 50W resistors. The resistors are wired to the black(ground) and the Yellow/Green(outermost) wires for the brake/signal.
With either the DRL's or the headlights on, everything is working as they should, no hyperflash either.
The issue comes when both the DRL's and the Headlights are off, for instance when unlocking the car, activating any of the tail lights causes the dashboard, gauges, and radio to flash as well. If I push the brakes, it will activate the front DRL's also.
Here's two videos I uploaded of the interior and exterior to show whats happening. Makes it easier to pinpoint.
I've read installing a 1.5A diode can fix this, but thought I'd ask a more Corvette experienced crowd.
