Need help or advice please. Shift to reverse code
Hello and would like some help or advice on a problem i have. I have a 2005 manual corvette. I got home and my display it read "shift to reverse". I turned off the car and the computer would not shut down. I had to disconnect battery. I quickly went into the forum and google and other guys had a similar problem and stated it was the back up lamp switch. I just got the parts today and going to try to swap them out. Is there anything else i have to do? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. As of yesterday the car does not turn on.

Im changing both. 2 weeks ago i took it to the dealer because it had a battery drain that was getting worse and they found the problem i believe. One thing may have to do with the other but im changing both to make sure i eliminate that problem.

Problem solved.
Well Rick i fixed it. I bought the back up lamp switches and raised car and that was the problem. Because the switch for the reverse did not work my car would not start because it did not properly shut down. I got help in locating and replacing the 2 switches from Jeremy at Horsepower sales. Thanks Jeremy it worked. My car is a 2005 so it require 2 switches. I just replaced both since i was down there. I spent less than $70 bucks for oem switches.

Fix will be here for the shift to reverse shutdown delete shortly, I will keep everybody posted.If any of you 05 guys want to get rid of the shift to reverse shutdown it will be available middle of spring.

Sorry to keep you guys waiting on this! It will be around very soon, I am going to see him on Thursday and will let you know when he will start making the kit up. The one i have on my car now works amazing! Its his protoype and has been problem free for almost 3 years now.

I talked to him today and he said that he is really busy right now, but as soon as racing season is done he will have more free time and start putting together the kits for the 05 guys. He said he is sorry for the delay and he has to go over the kit again to make sure it is a 100% to sell. He doesn't want no lawsuits or anything like that.
