Default Cam Specs

I have a buddy that upgraded his cam on his 408 6.0 GTO. It was on the car for about 500 miles and he is going to give it to me for free. I wanted to know if i was able to use it on my stock LS2 and what i could expect if i used the cam? It is a Cam Motion XA218 363-228 350-114.

Maybe it's a 218/228 with .617/.595 lift on a 114lsa? If so, it's very mild with -5 degrees of overlap. Don't know what you're after, but a free cam is only free if it's EXACTLY what you want. The camshaft itself is kinda the "cheap" part of the equation. Springs, pushrods, timing chain, gaskets, time, tune, and labor are the expensive parts.

You can get any cam Comp makes delivered to your door for under 400 bucks. Get one of the pros to spec you one to fit what you're trying to do. A camshaft can make or break your combo.

My friend also has a set of ported heads he is going to give me for cheap. They were all paired on the same build. So the only difference would be my bore. I am just looking for a healthy daily driver with some lope. I plan on putting long tubes on at the same time as well. So maybe low end power from the cam?

You're not going to have any lope with that cam. Just a slightly rougher than stock idle. Sounds like you've got a nice combo going together. It deserves a camshaft more appropriate to the combo. Something like a 226/230 114 would give you a little lope and still have decent manners. Much bigger bump in power vs the cam you're considering. Your tuner can make it lope like a lame donkey too
