So as soon as I hit 2k rpms my voltage drops, belt doesn't seem to be slipping and the voltage doesn't return until it gets to idle... Here's a video does this look like a bad alternator?
I drove for an hour today and batter was not dead so there's definately charging going on somewhere
Brushes are just about worn down (at the end of the cable slack), and as the alternator spins up faster, not enough tension of the bushings to the commutator to hold a connection.
The problem can be fixed by just re-soldering new brushing back into the brush housing, and new brushes are around $6 for the pair at any electric motor, or alternator repair shop. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-question.html
Also for grins, check the battery cables that go down past the back of the engine on the passenger side, since they may be worn and grounding out against the back of the motor. Then take a quick look at the back of the starter to make sure that the bakelite is not cracking apart, and a bad connection there.
P.S, If you are in the Denver area, I can do the brushes swap for you, since I need to do a write up with photo's on a tear down and rebuild of a OEM C6 alternator.

I'm in Dallas tx unfortunately alternatively we testd the alternator at idle and it passed however failed over 2k Rams when tested and I hit the throttle.
I probably won't try to resolder anything myself because I truly don't have good luck rebuilding alternators,

So, it is safe to say I'll need a new alternator?
check the ground wire that's located on the block above the starter to ensure its tight. mine was loose and it caused charging issues going to the battery. the alternator was charging but it wasn't getting to the battery. put the red lead of a multi-meter on the nut on the back of the alternator and the black lead to ground and see if it puts out ~14.6volts.
I guess its a good idea to check voltage at the alternator as well. I havent done that because of the lack of a helper but i can get a buddy over this weekend to look with me.

don't need any extra hands to do this.start the car an just lay the meter in the cowl area and touch the red lead to the nut on the back of the alternator and the black lead on the alternator housing to get your reading.

True, My Meter has super short wires, but i could probably figure it out anyways

I have a great alternator repair shop in Denton. I have used them several times and they do great work and you keep your original alternator.
BTW, usually same day service and usually cost around $100 depending on what parts need to be replaced. Some of the diode stacks get pricey but you only pay for what is needed.
PM me if you want the info.
