Default spastic window

Just today my drivers side window won't index correctly, tried to re index with switch as in the manual, but I don't know if this only works after battery disconnect, did not want to do that if not required. The window drops like normal then when I close the door it cycles about 10 times before it stops. any help thanks.

Here's text from a GM service bulletin...note the words "continuous up and down":

If diagnosis confirms the condition is caused by the exterior door handle switch, replace both driver and passenger switches. Be sure to mark which switch comes from the driver and passenger doors. Parts will be requested back through the Warranty Parts Center return process.Parts Information Part Number Description10446243 Front Side Door Handle SwitchWarranty InformationFor vehicles repaired under warranty, use: Labor Operation Description Labor TimeN9588* Front Side Door Handle Switch — Replace (Both) 0.9 hr*This is a unique labor operation for bulletin use only. Cleaning the door pad contacts is easy and would be my first thing to try. This issue is especially common in areas of high humidity.

The pads come off with a couple of screws and then are easily disassembled...just be careful not to let the wiring harness fall back into the door...this could add much complication.

A big thanks to cclive 15 min did both sides works perfect.
I would sugest anybody with a C6 more than 4 or 5 years old do this as a preventive measure, it is that easy. My passenger side was not acting up but was all corosion when I took it apart.

Glad to hear that it worked out. Usually this is something that only happens in humid places...but I'm still mystified as to why these contacts get corroded and yet other switches in the car are fine....weird. I also think you are better off cleaning them as you did rather than buying new ones because you can put a bit of something like WD-40 on the contacts to keep them from corroding in the future.

When I got my C6 this was one of the first issues I encountered. Came here and read the same advice. I had ordered new ones but just reinstalled the old ones and they've worked fine every since. Love this place!
