Help: Retainer clip on bilstein sports - is it supposed to have play?
I posted this in the autox section but figured some folks in the c6 tech section (who dont check the autox section) would have experience as well:

I recently purchased some bilstein sports for my c6 and noticed the retainer clip that goes on the rod (by the bumpstop) was 1-2mm thinner than the groove it sits in. This was on all the shocks. Is this normal for these shocks? (the oem sachs ones ones had zero play)
Thanks!
Thanks!

That is the same as mine were. No problems at all. On my second set of Bilsteins.

1-2 mm thinner???I don't think that is possible because mine are only 1 mm thick. My Bilstein did not even come with them one of the vendors here sent me some for free. A decent shock but I will not buy another set of these.

Side note:
Someone said you need to use the Bilstein clips and the Bilstein dust covers, they work together to keep the clips from popping loose.
We have about 5k miles on our Bilstein HD (not Sport, but similar design) using the Bilstein parts, no problems and a nice touring shock. Softer than Sport or Z51, firmer than base.
