Default Strange FOB problem

I have a 2005 Corvette with 36,000 miles on it. The FOB works intermittently. It won't work at all if I let the car sit for a few days and I have to open the hatch with the key, the alarms beeps a couple of times then the FOB works for a day or so. I changed the battery in the FOB and I have the same problem with both of my FOBs. Has anyone heard of this problem B4? Any ideas what the issue might be? Thank you for your help.

When you pull on the door pads are you getting the light on top of the door to light up?

If you are not getting the light, then it may be your car battery is on the way out, or that your battery cables need to be checked instead.

Note, the 05 with manual trans has to be shut off in reverse for the system to go to sleep (and not quickly drain the battery), and if you are going to leave the car to sit for more than a few days, get a battery tender on the car (Ctek 3300 is a great unit if you need to buy a tender).

On the fob, had you pulled it apart to clean it, and installed a fresh battery in it?

When you pull it apart, once you have the back cover off, pull up the entire rubber to pull the rubber and board out of the front cover, then pull the board out of the rubber afterwards.

When cleaning, make sure not to snap one of the tiny wires off the coil, and use Contact cleaner on a board contact pads to get them clean, and slightly tweak the cleaned prongs off the battery assembly so they are making good contact with both the battery and the board contact pads.

Thank you for your response.

No, the light on the top of the door does not come on when I pull the handle, the fobs both have new batteries and so does the vehicle. Battery is fully charged. If I unlock the trunk with the key, the alarm sounds once and then the FOBs work fine for a day or so.

Would still check the battery cables both ends on the positive and negitive cables, but try to hard reset the system and see if that solves the problem.

To hard reset the system, just remove the negative battery cable (10mm socket and don't spin the nut all the way off, leave it disconnected for about 5 mins, then reconnect it again to the battery.

Note: after you disconnect and reconnect the battery cable, you will need to re-index the windows and reset the radio clock.
So, put the car into run mode without the car started (hold the start button for 10 seconds without pushing the clutch or brake pedal) then one by one, roll the windows all the way up, and continue to hold the button for 3 seconds, release the button and hold it again in the up position for three second again (each window).
Note, if you listen closely, you will hear a little click in the door as the system learns the index of the windows.

As for resetting the radio clock, push and hold in the min and hour button for about a second (will get a reset time request on the radio display) then push and hold the min and hour buttons in again to set the radio to RDS time (will get a beep when it sets to the RDS local time).

Also to point out, when was the last time you cleaned the door pull pads?

Default FOB Fixed

You're AWESOME!! Resetting everything seems to have fixed the issue with the FOB and the problem I was having with the driver side window not going all the way up when I started the car. Thank you!!
