What is:

Part number 15240415, that is located on the knee bolster, under the ignition switch. The part is from MWM Acoustics, and is called a microphone. What is this for?

I *did* Google, with the part number, all it said was microphone, not for what.

Thanks...I don't have OnStar in the car any longer, so I won't bother to repair the pulled wires from the plug!

Actually, it's the Bose Audiopilot feedback microphone.

That makes more sense.

So.

If I no longer have the Bose sound system in th car, it makes no never-mind if it isn't connected any longer. ( I pulled the wires out of the connector when I pulled the knee bolster to reinstall my ignition switch, which pushed in.

My radio now is a Kenwood DNX571HD, thanks to Dennis, at Double D.
