Don't know if you've seen this discussion but I saved it because it had the best info I had seen at the time, maybe not enough for you though: (see Spinmonster's and JoesC5 posts)

I ordered a pair of them yesterday as "spares" in case I break mine at the drag strip. Based on what I read, the differences are not significant, but sometimes a small change can make a big difference.

you may want to be cautious with that. the quality seems to have dropped off on the GM C5 axles. I swapped my C6Z to brand new C5 half shafts and the first time I hit the gas, I sheared off the splined section. Street tires + 50 mph roll in 2nd + 500 ft lbs of torque =
The GM OEM C5 shafts are stronger. Ive broken C6 shafts, never a C5. That is just personal experience and opinion though. Ive had the stock C5 shafts hold north of 1000whp with no problems with years of street and track abuse. Granted im not trying to 60' the car every time I leave a light, but ive broken c6 shafts with less abuse and less power.

I snapped the weak, early 06 half shaft at the track. Ordered up some C5 to fix it, and broke on sat. HOWEVER- I'm guessing its a QC issue as the C5 is stronger and lots of people (like the above) have run crazy power with them. That being said, there have been a few cases in the last couple years of people breaking the C5 on the street on street tires.

This seems to be the typical experience with the C5 ones.
Thanks all! I hope that I don't need them, but better to have them and not need them than and then have the car down during out 6 days of summer!
you might check against the year of your car as the 09 & up use a ZR1 axel which is bigger, also the wheel speed sensors are not the same.
moral of the story if you have a 2009 & up C5 axels won't work

Thanks. I am aware of that issue, since I have an 06, I am ok.
