Default Proper air pressure.

Last week the 10 year old tps units in my 05 were replaced with oem units. I set the air pressure at 30 psi, (Firestone Firehawks run flats). Today I took the car out for a 30 mile check run, tie pressures stabilized at 35 psi in all four wheels. I don't recall seeing that type of increase before, maybe from 30 to 32 psi. 35 psi is a bit stiff in a car with the Z51 suspension to start with. Should I reduce pressure to 28 cold and see what I get when they heat up or just leave alone.
Thanks

I would do what your tire wear tells you to do to be honest.

In my experience 30 cold goes to 35 with normal highway driving with tempetures above say 65*.

As mentioned tire wear is the truth of the matter regarding just what the air pressure is doing regarding tire patch contact with the road.

I ran 30 hot for awhile and experienced some accelerated wear at both inside and outer edges. i do not think running 28 cold will do much harm and seeing if the ride is more desirable I would go for it. Just check for additional edge wear. I was running 26-27 cold in the summer and seeing 30-31 hot.

Going to non run flat tire's will be benifical too in aiding a softer ride.

Z51 and GY RF's I found to be way to harsh also.

I think I'll leave it at 30 and keep an eye on the tire wear as recommended. I don't put a lot of miles on the car so it will be probably a while before I see any wear.
Thanks

get rid of the "run craps" and put a real tire on it and you won't believe the handling or the ride, 30 psi cold and don't worry about it! I'm runnig Kumho's and the have bee a VERY GOOD tire 320 wear rating, put a set on my mothers car{honda fit} and they have been exellent also!

Brand new tires are going to generate a bit more heat until they get broken in. Cold pressure is what's important (30), don't worry about the hot.

Can't ditch them, too much money invested in them, besides it would be just my luck to get a flat. I have had a number of vettes and this one rides the best by far. I was just concerned about the tp increase when hot, Based on responses it doesn't seem like a big deal. I just don't recall the pressures prior to the tpms change.
