On a stock LS3 is there any significant performance advantage to changing out the standard throttle body for one of the ones touted on the forum as being polished or machined to increase horse power. I am willing to spend the money if it will perform better. Thanks in advance for your advice.
I don't have an LS3 but I have used ported/polished tb's on my LS1, LS2 and a 6.1 hemi and in all cases I didn't see much in hp gain. Some claim as much as 10+rwhp but I never saw that. I may have seen a quarter of that but in all my cases the throttle response was improved.
I've used forum members off of LS1 tech and 300c forum for previous cars and finally v-max for their cnc ported tb for my c6. I figure it's a worthwhile mod for the throttle response improvement, but don't expect the claimed gains in hp. Every little bit helps(I'm now full bolt-on and heads/cam/fast 102/stall converter)
