I need a muffler recomendation that won't produce interior drone
My local muffler shop wants $500 to install a cross over pipe along with a set of Magnaflow mufflers with a pair of chrome quad muffler tips.
The price is good but I've had a set of Magnaflow mufflers on each of my last 3 C4 Corvettes and the drone was terrible can I expect the same drone results with my 08 C6? he also has available Flowmaster mufflers " which he doesn't recommend" so if i want to enjoy a drone free driving experience In my C6 am I limited to a Corsa muffler set up? So here's the choices that I'm looking at for a muffler replacement.
#1. Magnaflow,
#2. Flowmaster
#3. Corsa
#4. Forum members recommendation.
thanks Boonie
I decided to go with the NPP option instead of going for the aftermarket exhaust setup, I purchased two 2007 Z06 mufflers but there missing the 2 vacuum actuators " if you know of any for sale please contact me" so once again forum members : thanks

Corsa's seem to be a well known non droner.

Actually the new Borla systems do not drone, the S type and ATAK are louder than the NPP.
I originally had NPP, I now run Borla ATAK. They sound awesome.
I had B&B bullets- Droned really bad
I had street GHL- Droned worse than the bullets
Sound is a personal touch, maybe hit up a get together and see if you can hear some for yourself.

Generally, the more "touring" type Borlas are best for no drone. But I have heard/read that even some of the more aggressive Borlas are now no drone. I think it's worth your time to call both Corsa and Borla and ask the techs those questions. Maybe even worth your time to do a little search on CF to see who has posted that with your same trans (sometimes there's a difference betw. auto and manual trans) there is no drone be it Magna or Flowm.---literally dozens of threads over the years with hundreds of posts. Here, you're getting what? 8 posts?

I built my own 3" over axle pipes, 2 sets of Flowmaster chrome dual tips, with Dynomax VT muflers and it sounds PERFECT. a little louder idle than my stock Z06 muflers, sounds really awesome at full throttle!! and best of all NO DRONE AT ALL

NPP 1st choice. Being able to choose your noise level is pretty nice. The quiet mode actually sounds pretty damn good in the closed postition with cam, headers, supercharger, and no cats. Stupid loud when open though. But, if you don't like stupid loud at WOT, there's something wrong with you
Corsa Sports would be my second choice. VERY nice tone at WOT and pretty much shuts the hell up at cruise. Not as quiet as the NPP's closed, but not overbearing either. You won't be cussing your muffler choice on a long trip. That's with long tubes, cam, supercharger, and no cats. If you're running cats and don't have LT's, cam, ....it might be too quiet for some folks.
