I'm having a shifting issue with my car and was hoping somebody here could help or has seen this problem before. Car is a 2006 3lt a6 that is bone stock to my knowledge, stock gears, stock size run flats.
Normal driving, it shifts fine thru all the gears. Starting from a 20 to 60 roll at WOT, it shifts good 1-2-3-4 like it's supposed to. It only messes up if I start from standstill at WOT - it will shift 1-2 good, but will not shift to 3rd.. It runs up, acts like it's going to shift and hits Rev limiter at which point I get of throttle and shift to Neutral. When I put car back in gear, it's stuck in 3rd gear in limp mode.
Glad you said that as I forgot to mention that it does the Dane in S using the paddle shifters. And if I pull over and shut car off for a few minutes then restart, it shifts fine with normal driving.
I don't know if it's tune related or a sensor or electrical issue. Was told car was stock but that doesn't mean that its never had a handheld tuner on it?

Are you running stock sized rear tires? Mine does that but only on the 4-5 shift when I run slightly smaller diameter rear tires. It will shift okay if I put it in Comp mode however to defeat traction control. You might want to give that a try to see if it makes any difference.
