Default FAST LSX Problem

While installing my new manifold today, I was torquing the throttle body bolts, and one of these inserts pulled out of the manifold a little bit. It looks like they're inserted in a counter clockwise fashion, so I can't think of anything to turn this thing back in. Any suggestions?

tap it back in with a small hammer or put the correct bolt in with a nut on it tighten the nut against the bolt/insert and you should be able to turn it back in, maybe a small drop of the right type of super glue{plastic} before you drive it back in but don't glue the bolt in. Call Fast?

No, do not tap it back in,

Use a Soldering iron to heat it up and force/press it back to flush or slightly above the mount surface,

Do not seat it below the mount surface, it will "jack out" the insert.

I sell equipment to install these inserts, if you were in Indiana I would let you use my Ultrasonic Hand Probe to insert it.

They are inserted via Thermal Heat Probe or Ultrasonic Horn, we also sell the equipment that Vibration Welds ( |$150K) the Intakes together,, Glass Filled Nylon 33% glass

Thanks guys. According to FAST they wanted me to tap in back in with red thread locker. So I did that and let it sit overnight, but the insert still pulled out on installation. I installed it on the car and it doesn't seem to be leaking, but I'm going to follow up with FAST on Monday. The part is clearly defective, and hopefully I can get it taken care of. I'm a bit disappointed for a $900 item, but S happens.

There are basically 3 ways to insert a Brass Threaded Insert,

1. During her Molding process called an Over Mold process, the insert is put into the fixture and the Mold is injected, holding it in place, it was not done this way. = Best Method

2. 15-kHz or 20-kHz Ultrasonic, use a US horn to drive the insert to depth by heating the Insert extremely quickly, i.e. 1 second to 1.5 seconds allowing the molten Nylon to form around the serrations on the OD of the Insert. = Good Method.

3. Thermally heat the insert to @ 300 degrees and push the insert in slowly, taking up to @ 6-10 seconds, allowing the molten Nylon to form around the serrations on the OD of the Insert. =Better method

On the insert is pulled out, you are basically hosed unless you can heat it up and push it back in, if FAST asks how you know this, tell them you got the info from a Dukane, Hot Plate, Vibration Weld, Ultrasonic Sales Rep in Indiana, they can say what they want but these are the facts.

Good luck!

LD85, I appreciate the information. I'll be sure to have that in my back pocket if they give me a hard time.
