Default BCM Issue? Any help appreciated.

Corvette tech guru's I come asking for your help. I have an 05', auto trans, with nothing more than the usual bolt-on upgrades. (Headers, exhaust, CAI, Throttle body, FAST Intake, tune.) Car has less than 25,000 miles.

Over the winter the stock battery finally gave up the ghost. So, I replaced it with an Optima Red Top. I also changed the battery's in both key fobs just to have all new. Here's where the fun starts.

I take the car out to make sure it's all ready to roll and I get a mile from my house and it shuts off completely. Dash is black with the yellow lock indicator being the only thing flashing. I quickly put the car in neutral and start the car again and continue driving. It repeats this same shut down one more time so I take it home and park it. I check battery connections to make sure they are tight.

I take it out again last week and monitor voltage while driving the car. Never drops below 13.9 while sitting at a stoplight. Voltage is up around 14.5 while driving. Again, it randomly shuts itself off while being driven. I restart and continue on. The car then gives me the warning that coolant temp high, shuts off the A/C, fans come on. I check coolant temp - xxx is what car shows. I head for home and it shuts off on me once more. This time I go to restart it and it struggles to start. I get it home and park it.

I disconnect the battery, take a wire brush and clean the terminals of the battery and connectors and apply dielectric grease to cover my bases there. I let it sit without being connected to the battery for over an hour before connecting again. I start the car and let it idle in the garage and key fob was placed in slot in glove box. It idles for a minute - maybe slightly longer - and shuts off. Same as before - black dash with yellow lock indicator flashing. Before shutting down the coolant temp reads but now it is showing 0 psi in all four tires. I start the car again and let it idle again - it runs for possibly 10 mins before shutting itself down again. Voltage while at idle in the garage was never below 13.8.

After reading many of the electrical gremlin threads here in the forum I keep leaning towards BCM but that's why I'm coming to everyone here for help. Apologies if the above looked like rambling but I get frustrated/mad every time I think about it.

Thanks in advance for any help you guys have with this one!

Could be a grounding problem. There are quite a few grounds under the hood. Get a service manual or ALLDATAdiy, find the grounds, remove them and clean all terminals and attaching points.

Thanks for the help guys. Theft deterrent system could be it after reading through the suggested link above. Very similar although they didn't have the odd coolant reading or tire pressures at 0 psi. These cars are odd at times.

Check grounds as above, and I would clean and inspect every major connection downstream of the + battery terminal, starting at the cone washer, then the starter solenoid, as main suspects. Take your time; I bet you will find something loose or corroded.

I had a weird one a while back with memory seat position recall, power top stopping in the middle, and fob communication (all BCM suspects), which apparently turned out to be the stupid drivers seat connection at the yellow air bag connector....so far, so good. Connections are always suspect in these cars.
