Switching from LS2 to LS3

Switching from LS2 to LS3
A buddy "lunched" his LS2 at an autocross two weeks ago (spun a bearing or more). To get back to racing ASAP, he has decided to purchase an LS3 crate motor. The question I have is: What are the issues when going from LS2 to LS3, electronically and??? Any other issues he should be looking at when doing the install? He's definitely changing the oil pan. Also, it's a 2005 6 speed.
