Default Corsa cold air intake box

When installing a corsa cold air intake box does it make your car sound any different? I'm new at this and I was just wondering? Thanks ! 2011 c6 base

Yes you can hear a big sucking sound as you open throttle. More so while still , but makes it sound more powerful. And I suppose it is making a bit more power. Like to think so with the cost of CAI .......LOL .... 11 G.S.

Looks great on your car. Thinking on purchasing one for my 2013 gs, Does installation of this intake require re-tuning? and is filter oiled or dry? Thanks

The Corsa is pretty much straight forward and had no real directions. I'm sure no tuning is required. But I had a (Handheld tuner) on it before CAI
and made no changes.

The filter material is reddish much K&N. And K&N oil is what I put on it.

FYI = Found to place filter in place. Install CAI tight then pull filter onto CAI and tighten filter clamp.

As was mentioned no real instructions, nor info on filter replacement.

I assume I will find out at the time of need.

I can see now that It's not a K&N...No carbon fiber on the top with...K&N on it..Very strange not to get instructions. May i ask what the cost was?

Got to ask,

How does this make the system a "Cold Air Intake" system, when it pulling the air from the same location that the stock filter was pulling air as well?

Also, the stock air filter system was already out flowing what the motor was demanding, so beside looking pretty, what is to be gained by this air filter system?

Really, looks like you dropped $600 for some carbon fiber "pretty" in the engine bay only instead.

That intake looks great though. Definitely makes for good under hood eye candy.

C6's/LS3 from the factory are chocked out.."To Rich" so more air is needed..(Common Sense). The stock filter is trash for as air flow.

The Z06 427 engine uses the same LS3 filter.

The 427 has 1/2 in. wider exhaust system too.

I have not purchased / installed one yet. Still trying to decide and see if others have had any issues. Have you contacted the manufacture or place of purchase? What year is the vette you installed it on? Hope you get it resolved. I would be interested to know how it turns out so I can decide whether or not to install one on my gs.

Tefer, check out post #6 on this thread: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ke-system.html. Might not be as pretty as the one above, but it does have function.
