First time taking the vette down the track
I am fishing for some tips from the forum members here.
2010 A6 base model. (Vararam,chuck cow tune,npp) Eagle F1 runflats.
What tire pressure? (will the tpms system give me trouble if i deflate?)
Trac Cont on/off.
Paddle shift or let the tranny do the work?
Any other tips would be welcome.
I am wondering about the TC and paddle shifter because if i leave TC on i can make the pass pretty much brainless, but if i turn it off the i HAVE to use the shifters or else when i feather the throttle due to spinning the tranny will up shift to soon. (at least that has been my experience on the road so far)

I've had the exact same mods as you at one time, so I'm very familiar with what works.
Assuming the transmission tune did not change the shift points in the S mode and/or change the rev limiter, here's the procedure that will work best with your current mods.
Set tire pressure at 24-26 psi. When pulling out of the staging lane, drive around the water box. Shift to S and paddle to 1st gear. Turn TC off. Lightly left foot brake and quickly stab the throttle to break the rear wheels loose just momentarily. You only want to clean off debris from the tires, not do a burnout. Shift back into D to get out of the paddle mode and back into S mode before you pull up to the start line to stage.
I don't need to explain staging technique, but the launch is obviously different with a car. Hold the brake and bring the RPM up to the 1100-1200 range as the lights come down. Release the brake on the 3rd yellow and quickly ease the throttle open. If you have the CoW booster, this will be very difficult, since it's exactly opposite of what's needed for a good launch. (your street experience confirmed that) If you spin more than a couple car lengths, just abort the pass. The tune may grenade your engine if you attempt to recover from a bad launch.
Assuming you had a decent launch, be alert for possible traction loss on the 1-2 shift and even the 2-3 shift, due to the harshness of the tune. If the track lacks prep, as you approach the starting line, turn the TC back on.
If you master the launch, your 60' times will be about 2.0-2.1 and you can expect ET's in the low 12's. DR's will move those 60' numbers below 2.0. A dyno tune by the local shop that races their own car or does tunes for local racers can get you into the 11's without the drama.

Thanks for all the reply's
Air temps were around 90 F. track was sticky enough for me and my hard Eagle F1 run flats.
I decided on the first launch that I would rather over spin than bog or let the tranny up shift to soon. So i just turned off TC and used the paddles. I held my foot on the brake and hit the gas fast and hard but only about 1/2 down (made sure i spun a little and didn't bog but also didn't let the rpms go over 3k) then slowly pushed it all the way to the floor, and press the up shift paddle as soon as the tack read 6k so it had time to shift before red line.
The results........................... 1.9 sixty foot, 12.1 et, 118mph!!!
was so happy i did the exact same thing the second time and got the EXACT same times.
Special Thanks to Chuck Cow for the killer tune. I cant believe i went 12.1s with a base A6 on Eagle F1 run flats, and only a vararam and Chuck Cow tune in 90 heat!
(and yes i have it on video, but it's on my wifes galaxy note edge, and i'm not sure how to upload, but i will give it a try soon)
skip to 1:20 for staging
second run

I think you would have made 11s if you left it in sport mode

If you can feed in the throttle a bit smoother to be on the ragged edge of spinning up to WOT and you'll squeeze into the 11's.

Awesome! A few tweaks and you'll go even faster!
Glad you like my stuff!
Thank you.
