My door release cable from the trunk on my 2008 convertible doesn't open the door any suggestions on why and how to repair? thanks Bob

Need more info.

Does the emergency floor release lever on the driver's side work?

What happens when you pull the trunk cable? Does it move at all? How hard did you pull and how far does it move? Or does it not move at all?

The trunk cable moves about 2 inches the inside release lifts up but doesn't open the latch the car had a sound proofing package installed with the stereo system by the previous owner I'm wondering if he didn't hook up the cables to the door latch. How can I access the back of the latch to check?
