Base c6 ls2 lifters
So i had the can replaced and valves done. The lifters were replaced with autozone mellings lifters but check engine light still flashed and no compression. so took heads back out and put old lifters back on and everythings fine but check engine light is on but not flashing. Any help? Do lifters have to be oem gm from dealer?

You more than likely have at least two separate issues. The issue with no compression was the pushrods were incorrectly sized for the aftermarket lifters.
What is the code for the check engine light? It is generally emissions related.
