Headlight/Taillight tinting?
My first 2010 I bought a set of Acrylic's from a Forum Vendor. Never liked the look, they were flat and the double side tape was pretty visible.
My 2005, I tried doing the tint myself. Due to the curvature of the taillights, I had problems getting all the air bubbles out and for it to sit flush. Even with a heat gun I wasn't satisfied with my results.
I ended up buying a set painted and clear coated off eBay. They're not too dark and look great. Paid $209 with $13 shipping. Kept the stockers incase the need ever arises.
Besides that, bake em and go slow when prying the lens off.
Get a good headlight re-seal like http://www.theretrofitsource.com/acc...lue-50246.html. Don't use window sealant or anything else. If you're gonna do it, do it right.
I used the new Rustoleum tint. I would recommend Rustoleum acrylic enamel - it polishes to a glass-like shine.
The hardest part about the process is getting an even coat of tint. If possible, shoot for 2 extremely light coats. I did 2 fairly heavy coats, and they're a bit too dark and it came out a bit uneven in some spots. I'll end up re-doing it eventually, or picking up a set of eagle eye tails.
The side markers took me 2 tries, but they came out perfect. They're pretty dark, but I think I'll end up putting in a set of LED's or something so that they're a tad brighter. Not going to spend the $160 for a set of VLED lights for the tails because that's not much cheaper than the eagle eyes in the first place.
Hope this helps.
