Default Looking to do long tube headers..should I?

So ive been humming and hawing on pulling the trigger on a set of long tube headers. I have borla stingers and I really like the sound, its not too loud but roars and gurgles.. however the horse power gains are what I'm interested in.. will I be disappointed with the sound I will get after installing long tubes with high flow cats? anybody have experience with this?
Thanks,

it will be much louder and gurgle more. after you get it retuned, you will feel the difference.

25-30 HP, much louder sound (but awesome), and drone with the stingers. Go for it and be sure to post sound clips afterwards.

I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with the sound after headers. Unless you have really sensitive ears and don't want added volume or if you have some exhaust drone from the borla exhaust and the headers may accentuate it, I don't think you'd be disappointed in the least. Plus it picks up a nice little hp gain.

I have a 08 with a small cam with Borla Stringers and when I had Long Tubes put on, it gained 34 rwhp on the Dyno the sound is awesome with no drone on the interstate. Go For It"..

Headers give it a more aggressive tone and nice hp gains. I never dyno'd my car stock but after headers and highflow cats my car did 408whp/408wtq and trapped 122.4mph

Headers are one of the best mods you can make on your car, as my dyno sheet below shows, headers add power for all rpm ranges unlike mods like a cam or heads which add power only above 4500 rpm.

Great mod. Here's more info on headers and other mods and where they make their horsepower as I overlaid them all on one dyno sheet.

Haven't done long tubes on the c6 yet but my c5 had long tubes, catted x,-pipe, and borla stingers. It was loud as hell inside and out and sounded wicked at full throttle. The only downside is the exhaust no longer gurgled and popped when decelerating like it did with just the stingers and I missed that sound.

I have the same exact setup as yours except i went with a catless xpipe.

The car freaking SCREAMS when you get on the throttle. I love it soo much.

I was a bit scared at how the quality of the sound would be, not so much the loudness as i've owned many loud cars before but my last car, an LS2 GTO was really loud but the quality of the sound wasn't good. Even my dad said the car sounded like crap. I mean it sounded ok to me going wide open throttle but what LS sounds bad at wide open throttle?? lol

It was at idle and partial throttle where the sound quality lacked.

With the vette, it's different. The quality of the sound is A TON better than my GTO. It really sounds like a damn race car lol. Cold start up is pretty loud but once it warms up, sounds like it has just an axleback.

But when you get on the throttle, you feel a deep bass from within the cabin as it screams. I really love this setup.

As far as drone. Not much. Or at least very easy to control. If you're on level ground, you can feather the throttle to where the car sounds stock. If you approach any incline, i suggest dropping down a gear til you're back on even ground.

I wouldn't change my setup if i had to go back. Really love this combo. I'll try to get some video this weekend since it'll be nice all weekend.

Hum?. The headers did cut some of the gurgling out but it still has enough that makes it sound like a funny car..

Don't know if it was the long tubes or x-pipe that did it but it was significantly reduced. Either way I'm still doing long tubes on the car when I get the money saved. That sound at full throttle is intoxicating.
