I have an 06 Z06. I lowered the car via the front bolts and it is still not low enough for my liking on the factory 18" wheel.
The other day I had my car on the lift and noticed my passenger side rear shock was rubbing, it may be bent or maybe it is marks from when the axle snapped, not positive.
I would like to lower my car some more in the front and give it a nice stance.
Do you recommend I go with coil overs or new shocks and aftermarket lowering bolts?
I don't go auto cross but do hit the drag strip every now and then, mainly used as a weekend toy for some highway pulls with those GTRs & GT500s!
Id vote for lowering bolts and new oem shocks. I drag race/daily/mexico racing trip my car with no bolts in front and the rear all the way down on Z51 shocks with good results.
They can be a pain to get out. I sprayed some pb blaster on the threads when i took mine out. And once i got the head of the bolt far enough down that i couldnt use a socket anymore, I used some pliers to grab the metal bottom part of the bolt to keep turning it. For the fronts I find it easiest to unbolt the shocks. Unbolt the endlink for the sway bar. Then mark all the lca alignment bolts so you can reinstall them in the same spot. And move the lca's out of the way to get the oem bolts out.
