My 2013 LS3 takes exactly 6 quarts and is right on the line on the dipstick. On the oil cooler issue, that wouldn't matter as the oil doesn't drain out of it during an oil change. I did add a Z51 oil cooler to my LS3 and of course it did take more than 6 quarts on the first oil fill but after that I drain 6 quarts out and put 6 back in it and it is on the dipstick line.
I track my car add an extra quart for the track event and drain the quart out of it after the track day. This is exactly per the owner's manual.
