Default Auto Transmission Stick Does't Move?
At times the transmission stick does't move out from (P). I keep depressing brake pedal but still same problem. After so many attempts it goes out. At other times problem is much less.

Any idea what the problem is and how to solve it?

the lockout solenoid has gone bad, you can replace it or bypass it as many have done for years. there are several write ups on it.

Until you get it 'fixed', try pushing forward on the shifter before pushing the button and pulling it back.

Assuming an A6.
