Alternator input please

for my 2006 S/C Z06. Nothing big added electrical but will one day add amp etc. Looking at a Velocity unit 250 amp powder coated black for 499.00. Has anyone ran one of these units or the Billet for 595.00. Also I have the 8 rib drive system will most of the alternator pulleys interchange ie the current alternator looks to be stock but with an 8 rib, would it pull off and go on the new Velocity unit?

So before you change the alternator out to a huge amperage unit, figure out the needed power, and just go that size instead.
The car itself needs about 100 amps at full charging, and then you can add the draw that the other added items will need from there for the up-sizing of it output.
As for the Billet Tech Alternator, it a 6 pole unit, instead of a OEM 3 pole unit, so it has a higher percentage amperage output when at idle than say a stock 3 pole OEM Valeo alternator. The 3 pole OEM valeo alternator only puts out around 10% of it's rated amperage at idle speeds, and if you have a problem in the charging wiring itself that is not allowing the car to see the full 10% at idle, could just be the problem at hand instead.
