Default Instrument cluster trim panel removal ?

What's the trick to disconnecting the electrical connectors on the back side of the instrument cluster trim panel ?
I'm talking about the electrical connectors to the HUD and DIC controls on the right / left sides of the panel (page 2-48 in Service manual).
There's apparently some tab /flange on either the male or female/panel side the connector that needs to be pushed / pulled in order to separate the two, but I can't find it !
2009 c6Z.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You are right those wires are a pain in the ..........

I just unscrewed the whole switch assembly from the cluster then it was easy to unconnect the wires . There are 3 philips head screws that are easy to get to with a stubby screw driver

Yep, it clips in, but it's pretty tough to push the clip in far enough to get it to come back apart.

A skinny screw driver helps or you can just unscrew the switches from the plastic bezel. It's not one of the squeeze a little bit and it'll pull right apart type connections unfortunately.

So much easier to just unscrew the 3 small phillip head screws , they take no effort at all to unscrew and they go right back in .....

you really are taking a chance on breaking the connectors or scratching the bezel the other way as there is just no room to work once you pop the bezel off the dashboard

Here is a picture of the wire unpugged. You would push the clip part down (relative to this picture)

Everyone else is right--it's easier to just unscrew the buttons instead of trying to disconnect them
