Default JBA headers quick review

Bought a set of these a couple months ago, before Hinson came out with their headers. They were installed by Matt@FSP on my new setup.

We only had two issues with these that I think need to be mentioned somewhere on these forums.

First, and Matt said they've seen this before, the fitment was not great. Driver side hit the bell housing and passenger side hit the transmission lines. Lines were moved and driver side was "massaged" with some heat and a hammer.

Second issue was that the flanges hit on the head studs and they ended up spending a lot of time trimming the flanges down. This probably wouldn't have been an issue with head bolts, however.

Now there are plenty of pros: The ceramic coating is solid and looks great, V-bands FTW, and O2 bung positioning is good. Plus it came with bungs for widebands already plugged.

I had JBA long tubes on my old C5 and the collector hit the bell housing on the drivers side. On the passenger side the o2 sensor was hitting something and the shop that installed them had to totally relocate the o2 bung. The fitment overall was ****.

Yeah JBA is much more commonly used in the Mustang community. At some point they started making headers for our cars, they started out with just making shorty headers for LS motors. I bought a C5 Z06 years back that had JBA shorty headers on it already and they were fine. I ended up putting JBA long tubes on instead and the fitment sucked. I also don’t like how their design was on the flanges where it mated to the heads.
