Default FAST 90 vs 92

Hello,
So recently cammed my c6. Went from being bone stock to cam, long tubes and off road x pipe. Put down 392/363 and tuner mentioned stock air box and ls2 intake are really holding me back. Do not want to drop the cash for a 102 intake as i would prefer to keep stock tb. Recommendations? Cam is a mild cam 227/234 113 lsa cam.

OEM LS2 intake can be RADICAL ported for less that $400, and will solve the flow problems. Hell the stock LS2 intake manifold robs the OEM motor of around 10Hp due to the way it was sonic welded produced to being with (ridge and burs that cause air flow turbulence).

http://www.peakspeedshop.com/porting.xhtml,

As for air filter system, may be boarder line there with the OEM and napa gold filter, but if you going swap it out, make sure that the air it pulling it from outside the engine bay, and not from inside of the engine bay instead. If push comes to shove, even an airaid with the lower shroud propped open will fit the bill.

Ehh i've been told by numerous people that the ls2 is the worse intake to deal with so would rather just get a FAST and if i wanted more power I could then port that as well. As for the CAI i'm probably going to pick up a local kit i found i believe its the SLP Blackwing.

You do understand that the SLP Blackwing is not a Cold air intake, since it still pulling its air from the hot air engine bay compartment!!!!

Also to add, it's leaving the MAF (that has the air temp sensor in it as well) still in the hot engine bay compartment to heat soak when standing still as well.

Hence the problem with hot air into the engine, it causes the engine to retard timing to prevent detonation in the cylinder, which ends up with a lose in HP. Hence the hotter the air into the motor, the more timing is pulled, the the greater the HP loss.

As for the Ls2 intake, sucks compared the older LS-6 and the newer LS-3 intakes due to first gen sonic welding, but that problem is the sonic weld parts that causes ridges, which cause turbulence in the runners, and with porting, these flaws are resolved.

So radical ported LS-2 or even ported fast 90/92, will be hard pressured to tell the difference on a dyno with the way you have the motor set up now.

Hate to say it, but with the information that you are getting on a ported LS2 intake, and then calling the SLP Blackwing a CAI, you need to slow down and start doubling checking facts, well before you just shell out a lots of money on parts blindly instead.
