Default 07 A/C question

So I've had my Corvette to my local dealer to find an A/C leak. I don't drive it much so I'm not surprised that the ref. has leaked out other cars in my collection.
They evac'd and charged, said your good to go. NOT, leaked out again. They put in red dye twice and NO trace in the engine copm. area. So they say it's under the IP and they are not comfortable going further.
So I call a dealer an hour away and ask the service writer, if it's not showing dye in the engine comp. then the only place is under the I.P., yes or no? Says he'll call me back as I have already spent several $100 on a diagnosis.
Get the call back and the service mgr. says they can't give me an estimate with out their own diagnosis. WHAT????????????
Has anyone experienced this problem and do you have an idea where the refrg. is going. How involved is it to get to the evaporator and other components under the I.P.?
Thanks

Its your AC charging port Schrader valves. I can almost guarantee it!
AC holds a charge and vacuum with their gauges hooked up?=yes
Then DUH the only connection you cant check is the schraders.
I see it all the time on GMs and Fords.
Just because the valves are tight in the port doesn't mean they're not leaking. they are still leaking past the Viton seals.
After charging the system get a short piece of clear vinyl hose that'll slip over the port. then put a little soapy water in the vinyl tube.
You'll see bubbles escaping from the Schrader.
Its a cheap and easy test and no other AC shop that I've had customers come from ever do this check

So I had a bit of A/C pro and added that today. Then checked for leaks with soapy water. No signs. Next step is to my local shop that has solved A/C problems before.
I'll let ya know what we find when he gets back off vacation in about 10 days.
Thanks again.
