Default Fixed back seat with 3 point harness....?

I plan on switching out seats for track days on my daily 08.

Would I be safe using a 3 point to get to and from the track with a fixed back seat?!?

I plan on using a 5 point harness on track btw...

I would assume so, but only if the race seat was bolted to the OEM studs and had the same type of mounting for the 2 seatbelt components you removed from the OEM seats.

Personally, for racing where the distance to the track is less than a couple hours, I use the 5-point harness. If I need to go hundreds of miles, I'll switch seats at the track.

Thanks, how many times have you switched out your seat? I heard the bolts don't last long if you do it a lot.

i have sparco evo plus in my C6Z06 and i drive it on the street with stock seat belt

got the airbag to work with AIRBAG simulators from VETTEWORKS for 46 shipped, just had to transfer wire harness from the OEM seat to the Sparco, simple job, took about 15 minutes and completely reversable

here is some pics

Thanks, so when i unplug the the side airbag the front airbag automatically doesn't work? I only plan on tracking the car with the race seat in so I don't need to worry about the wheel bag I guess.

I would love to switch both seats permanently but I want to retain the side curtain airbag

I have some new in box plug in seat belt devices. Basically they prevent the seat belt chime from driving you crazy while you are using your harnesses.

I ordered them from Germany and they will cost more to return than it's worth.

Any interest? $40 shipped for a pair. They are essentially metal seat belt plugs with a bit of CF for decoration.

I'd guess I've had the drivers seat out about 20 times and half of those were to swap to the race seat. The passenger seat has been out at least 30 times. The standard method to avoid thread damage is to apply a small amount of lubricant to the first couple of threads before putting the nut on. It'll be good for several removal/replacements. Yes, it's still possible to stretch the bolts if you torque the nuts way beyond snug.

I go in straight lines, so light weight is the quest. I built my own mount. It's 24# total.
