Default **Update in emission recall**

This is a follow up of my 2008 MN6 having the Z06 manifolds with custom tune recall work done and supsenquent tuning.

I decided to start a new thread due to how many different threads on this recall are still on going.

The tuner compared the GM refresh with my file from 1-9-2008 stock tune. He said it was identical with very miner changes regarding the new converters.

I amd the same hp after he did another custom tune which was a follow up of the GM refresh.

My ECM was NOT looking like another forum member reported in his experience. I do not have any details on what program he was attempting to use. My guy uses HPTuners and a Dynopack dyno.

He could not answer why my Cags delete stayed as a delete program after the GM refresh. This is what got me wondering just was was done.

The car did gain 10 hp and 5 lbs tq from the new tune which replaced the GM refresh. He did dyno before of course.

The car has sharper response too. After the refresh the car ran smooth enough it just felt a little sluggish. Now it has the pep again. Power wise though with stock tune getting the refresh it looks like GM did not make and significant changes either way power wise.

So if many of you had a tune before you will most likely notice a drop in initial throttle response.

Up to you if you want to retune. 10hp isn't much but the throttle response I think is worth the effort.

If I missed anything post up and I will try an answer in my limited way.

Oh and the guys with say Corsa Sports like myself, you will notice a drop in loudness/sharpness of the burble on decel.

Some of this no doubt is from the smaller stock pipe as compared to the Z06 pipe size. This and I thought my the exta smaller mid pipe converters.

Still the car sounds better than stock, and the Corsa cans helped this but with the new additional converters the Sports are quieter by maybe 50%. Just a half *** guess but the drop off is significant. I am actually pleased with this cause I was getting tired of the pop pops popo ALL the the the me.

Other louder cans will no doubt be influenced too, how much??

Thanks for the update, the torque management alone is worth the tune IMO. Looks like I do not need to rush to get my tune.

Very helpful, thanks again,

DJ

Did you have z06 manifolds, cats, and h-pipe before this recall? Did you swap all of that back to stock before taking it in? Planning to leave it oem now? I'm in the same boat and deciding what to do
