Do not buy an off the shelf cam, it's too big of a change unless you know exactly how the motor will react to the cam.
Learn as much as you can about how a cam can impact things like low RPM drivability. I didn't want to sacrifice low end torque as that's what you feel every day when you drive the car. I ended up gaining 30 ft/lbs at 3000 RPM which is what I wanted. Combined with headers I picked up 100 RWHP.
I swear by Martin Smallwood at Tick Performance. Make a list of characteristics you want and a list of what you don't want, and give him a call.
......any suggestions on good sounding cam for m6?
Picking a cam purely for 'sound' is a good way to mess up the performance/drivability of your car, because a lot of good sounding cams can be the wrong cam for your setup from a performance standpoint.
Pick a cam for performance.....an aggressive 'sound' should result from that.
The first 6 or 7 comments knew what I was talking about. Haven't really dealt with LS engines much but been building big block Chevrolet for years. My boat has a dart big m 598 with dart cnc'd pro 1 heads 714 lift solid roller cam that I built from a bare block up.so any way any one have experience with the kaotik from vengeance as far as drivabilty? If I'm in my vette I'm not on my way to grandmas house! But still want to be able to cruise down the interstate. Thanks
