Default 900+ whp build. NEED ADVICES! :)

Hey everyone

I'm new both here and with Corvettes.
Bought a 2008 c6 ls3 a month ago. I want a 900+ whp car at the end of this journey.
What I need help with is the following:
I've built several high hp japanese cars (300zx,Supra) but the parts choice there is very simple in comparison to the ls family. You know there are several types of Cams, for example, and that's it. Here it's another story. I got lost in all these LSAs and lobe separation and different combinations.

What I want to do right now is choose a camshaft that I would put in an otherwise stock ls3 + valvetrain if required that would be blower friendly (procharger probably) in the future and give me more power now. As far as I know this is possible. Also any other mod recommendations would be nice (intake, exhaust, etc).

So the main idea installing anything that I will use in the future with the blower now and collecting internal parts along the way.

The car won't be a daily driver. Rather a weekend/night racer on the highway and drag. But it has to be drivable without bogging and stalling etc.

And yes I DO REALIZE that huge power doesn't cost $5000, but on the other hand I would like to spend less money for parts like exhaust (if power won't be affected drastically by some no name headers).

And please don't say that I don't need that kind of power and it won't hook and etc. I just want it and that's it.

I would call a reputable engine builder like Lingenfelter, Wegner, Texas Speed, LG or Thompson and ask them what to do instead of a bunch of opinions. No clue were you live, but I would use a builder that is close.

Lots of LS history, so 1,000 WHP out there, so the specs should be available from a respectable builder.

The problem is that I live VEEEERY FAR from US.
I live in Republic of Georgia. And there are no shops whatsoever. There are just 3 C6 Corvettes in the country...
I build the engine myself and have a very good tuner. Every part I buy has to come all the way from US to a cargo forwarding company that delivers it to my country...

Give ECS a call. They're experts when it comes to supercharged LS motors. Explain to them your goals, budget, and the distance issue. Let them know you want a complete Cam/SC build which you can put together yourself (keep in mind it's not a basic diy project) and have them design a package for you. Asking us is just going to get you a dozen different opinions consisting of varying success and horror stories. If you had a competent shop local to you I'd almost always advise you to use them. Since you dont, you might as well use one of the best in the business.

900+whp is very easy to attain as it has been done hundreds of times. Myself and at least 50 other people on this forum have vettes in the 900+whp range and there are certain recipes that work really great...

Any LS engine from Stock cubic inch up will make that power.

For starters, get the right blower for the job from the get go. Order a 10 Rib drive YSI/2200R blower setup from either ECS or A&A. That bracket and blower will support 1000whp+ with no issues and you can bolt it onto your stock LS3 with a big pulley in the mean time. You will also want to purchase a direct drive from either A&A, Dallas Performance, or Cartek. This will run just the blower off the main 10 rib belt and all accessories off the 4 rib A/C belt or a Cog belt, your choosing.

When the time to make big power comes, you already have the blower end of things done.

As you are outside the USA, it is your choice of weather you have a machine shop in the area up to the task to machine a block for you or not. As we have certain shops in the US that pretty much just focus on LS engines, it may be worth your money to just order a built shortblock/longblock from a US company like Thompson (I can attest to their quality although I do all my machining myself) and be done with it.

You do not want to cheap out on the internals, buy the best parts you can afford. Myself and many others have been running on Callies Dragonslayer cranks, Callies Billet rods, and choice of wiseco or diamond pistons in the 1000whp level for years so we know those parts work well.

At the end of the day, the horsepower itself is the easiest part to make here. Its keeping the rest of the car together that becomes the problem.. You are going to need a Clutch, prop shaft, transmission, differential that is built to take the power.

I would recommend a simple phone call to either ECS or A&A and they can set you up with the supercharger package you need with all the fixings including fuel system parts needed to make 1000whp. Like I said, that number is easily attainable these days.

Thanks a lot for the reply! Really appreciate it...
I will contact one of those guys!
I was looking more towards procharger f1 or d1 (if enough)
But I have several questions about your post, if I may
I wasn't planning on a cheap engine build. But what I need is guidance with which parts work best with which.
Like which cam + valvetrain should I get?
Can I rev up to 7000?
Can I get a 4" crank or will it have negative effect on the sleeves?
Do I need oil squirters?
If I'm not getting the 4" crank, how much can a stock one take?
Which head gaskets should I use? LS9? Or cometic?
I'd rather leave the heads as they are (even not ported) if possible as delivering heads to my location will cost about twice the cost of the heads themselves.
At what power level do heads start to lift and push coolant with arp head studs?
Any oil starvation problems? Which oil pump should I use?
Can I get a cheap set of exhaust manifolds? If so, which ones?
Which intake should I use?

These are just the questions that I remembered right now.
There are more to follow, like what do you guys generally do with fuel supply? Do you change the pump or use boost-a-pump? Fuel rails? Regulator? Which clutch should I use (preferably not such that one would rather walk home if suddenly stuck in traffic)? Which parts of drivetrain start to fail at what power levels? I won't race on a drag strip as we don't have one

What I want to do right now is get a cam + springs (anything else that is needed) first, than add exhaust and intake manifolds. And I want these to be of use in the future when I've gathered parts for internal work and supercharger.

Thanks!

pretty much in your first post you told me you don't know squat, ricers don't have a lot of choices for engine builds? did a buddy of yours tell you that? and then you say that big HP doesn't cost $5000/ good luck on your cheap 900HP

Guess what? I build my engine myself from bare block up. And my 300zx doesn't really have that many choices. There exists a stroker kit but last time i barely found one for like 12-13k which is stupid. The rest is very simple. I will never need anything but Eagle H beams for a 3 liter engine as I won't be able to get more than 750whp from the fuel we have here and Wiseco pistons. As for cam choices you either go solid lifter or hydraulic and choose a between like 3 types of camshafts (if I remember correctly). As for exhaust, mine is custom built by a friend of mine. Turbo kit is a gtx2863r and it was a bolt on from z1motorsports. And RICER? Since when did a Supra or a 300zx that doesn't have plane wings on them become a ricer? And yes I know power doesn't come cheap, especially reliably, so what's your point exactly?

Why does there always have to be one ******* on a forum that is negative and rude instead of either contributing in some way or just getting the F*** away minding his business. I wish you'd live close to give you a bloody lesson.

Ignore him, most everyone else does. He obviously didn't comprehend what you were saying. He's all but useless on here anyway. The shops listed above have dozens+ of reliable high horsepower builds. They'll get you taken care of.

What kind of time frame do you have on your build? I hope when you're done, you update us on how it went. Also, if I were you I would check out the C6 Forced Induction section. It's got a lot of great info too.

I'm interested in what you're able to put together. Good luck.

I'll definitely post progress with dyno numbers
BTW how much should a stock ls3 m6 show on a mustang dyno?

Default ZR1 Power

Your only call to do this should be to John Page at 21st Century Muscle Cars in Addison Texas. Matt best tuner around also.

Pretty simple actually. Call Comp Cams and get a cam spec from them that likes lots of boost. Call Advanced Induction in NC get a good set of LS3 heads that are done. Get a set of dished Forged pistons. ARP all bolts in the engine. Call APS in Australia and see if you can get a Corvette kit from them. They used to make a very nice twin turbo setup and they may be able to piece one together for you.

Despite English being my 3rd language, I still think that my English is better than yours as I never wrote that I want 900hp for $5000. I wrote the OPPOSITE of that and everyone here understood that except you.
But hey...your crappy personality has been discussed here already and it turns out it's not even worth to give a flying fu*k...and nobody really does.

Thanks for a tip. I'll consider it as an option as well. The only thing I'm not willing to do from your list (unless absolutely necessary) is buying new heads or even porting...everything else I'm willing to do. And I'd like to have a supercharger instead of two turbos

Comp has had some problems with soft cores. May be a thing of the past, but that's not who I'd call.

Find Pat G's website, he will spec whatever you want cam wise and send you a sheet that cammotion can build a cam off of

Your going to be fighting to keep this car running for several different reasons. They will all come back to the cylinder head. If you prefer to use the stock head, you really need to contact APS and not go with the supercharger if you plan on making 900 Hp with a big cam. If you do that combination a stock Kia will beat you in a drive to the supermarket and be more enjoyabl to drive because you will not keep it running. In the end though your choice.
