Default Headers and Tune

I have an 06 z51 m6 vert.

I was looking to get some longtube headers soon, most likely Hinson headers with x pipe. it comes with the 02 sensor extensions as well, all for 829.00

now I know the car will need to be re tuned after the headers are installed as the car will be running too rich and the read 02s will need to be tuned out as well. I would love to get a dyno tune but the only place I know of near me is livernois and they charge 800ish for a dyno tune which is absolutely ridiculous, more than the headers themselves. they actually quoted me 3000ish for headers and a tune LOL.

Heres the thing, I have an sct scanner used for my mustang a while ago. is it possible to unlock this tuner and download custom tunes written by one of these online corvette vendors, into the sct device? that would be a lot cheaper (but I know not as good).

who can write a good tune to be downloaded into the device? honestly I dont care about max horsepower right now, i just dont want the car to run rich. I will be getting a real dyno tune when I most likely supercharge next spring.

Lastly, if anyone knows other tune shops with reasonable prices in the southern michigan/ detroit area, please let me know.

thanks

You are correct to in the high prices quoted. Cheap headers cost though, does it include a mid pipe?

Livernois Motorsports you mean? If so they do stellar work and are worth it. I was the victim of a 300$ email tune that could have blown my engine that just had roughly 7000 just dropped into it. i was retuned by another guy for 525.00 and there is your 800$ lol. I don't know but maybe figure out a few extra mods like CAI and make the expense of the tune feel more with it for you. I just feel like people looking to save so hard on the tune when it's usually the most important part of a combo especially with a cam or something and of course FI. It's like really wanting a tattoo so you get this guy that knows a guy that does them in his basement haha. Not saying to spend 800, not saying not too, just make sure you choose wisely and don't figure that lower is always better on this particular one at least.

My understanding on SCT scanners -----(Ford) won't work for (Chevy) and they are married to one car at a time.
