Default Dyno tune ls3

Debating on whether to tune my M6 2010 LS3 GS. Have CAI and BB bullet axle back. Don't plan on doing any more mods. Debating on whether I should dyno tune it? Would it be worth it?

Had my bone stock LS3 dyno tuned, nice difference in driveability. If you have a
auto trans. they can make the upshifts firmer.

Do you have to change to a 160F stat?

Let me know if you go through with it. I have the same modifications. I'm thinking about doing the headers prior to the tune though.

I like the sound and power I have right now, just thinking if I would benefit from a tune now.

-You should get more power with headers and I think then you will definitely need a tune.

You can almost always benefit to some degree from a tune done by a reputable LS tuner. Even close to stock you will see a power increase and better driveability. You don't need a 160 t-stat to get a tune, you can drive in bone stock from the showroom and get a tune. But obviously any modification you make the tuner should be able to take advantage of and use more to your advantage.

Headers and a tune will probably net you the single largest gain for your dollar without draining your wallet.

You're in Canada. What's your powertrain warranty? And, if something happens to the powertrain, are you willing to foot the bill yourself? Edit: just saw it's a '10, so you're either out of warranty or close to it. Sorry, skip the above, and go to probable good results from a tune.

I would get the tune.... I did a tune on my otherwise stock ls2 and gained 36hp.... GM.s tune is very conservative. Even with just a CAI its always good to get a tune ,,,
So I say yes

If you're happy with your current power, save your money and leave the car alone. There's no other tuning benefit for an M6 car that would justify the cost. If you have an A6, you can paddle shift when you want more aggressive shifting.

If you get bored with your current power level in a year or two, then consider the tune along with headers/Z06 manifolds. The exhaust change plus the tune will give a nice bump in power and cure the boredom for a while.

Your probably right but I heard someone here awhile back saying the best bang for your buck is the tune with a CIA. If that were true, for the cost of a tune I would go that route. I'm not sure if I could do headers with my bullet exhaust. Its loud enough now.

You are absolutely correct...With just a CAI and no tune you are starving the car for air.....Ask any real tuner and they will tell you that putting a cold air on without a tune is just a waste of money .....
Like I said I got 36hp and 25tq extra from just my tune with a CAI . great bang for the buck....

Wow 36hp, I would be happy if I got just half of that. I think I will be getting the tune. What CAI do you have? Mine is the Airaid, hope its good.

I had a tune with just 450 miles on my 08.

Went from 375/381 to 400/407. This was on a wheels off dyno.

The throttle response is worth it alone.
