I am finishing up the suspension on my 67 pro touring Camaro and have a Z51 brake set up front and rear. Will 16" Camaro/TA wheels clear the rotors? I have an old set that I could use for rollers, and was just curious. If not, I'm gonna have to find a set of C5 take offs for cheap to use as rollers to move the car around.
Let me know, thanks!!
Just guessing because I don't know anything about the Camaro wheel specs.
The Z51 rotors are 13.4" front and 13" rear. If you are trying to mount the wheels without calipers then they should fit. But if you have the calipers mounted then I "think" the minimum wheel size needed is 17", like C5 Vette wheels.
Thanks Rick. They will bolt up, same pattern, just wasn't sure of the clearance before I dug them out of storage and took them to see. I don't imagine they will, was just taking the lazy route before i tried, lol.
You need 18" wheels to clear the z51 rotors & calipers. 17" wheels will clear the standard c6 or c5 rotors & calipers. 16" wheels are not going to fit.
That said you might be able to get spacers to push the wheels out so they fit, c6 z06 guys use 4.5" wheel adapters to mount 17" gto spares, the adaptor pushes the wheel outside the caliper completely. Looks crazy but works.
