Default Basic Climate Control Question

So I am having a disagreement with my dealer about how the climate control on my '13 GS is supposed to work.

I say when it is cold outside and I have the CC temperature set to a number that will demand heat, when the car starts up cold the climate control system should not start blowing air until the heater core is filled with hot coolant and it can blow warm air (which is how I think the CC worked on my '06 C6, unless my memory is wrong).

My '13 just blasts cold air until the engine is finally warm, which just seems wrong. But the dealer claims that's how the system is supposed to work.

Am I wrong? Isn't the CC supposed to wait until it can supply warm air before starting the blower?

Thanks . . . Stu

Is this when set to automatic mode or no?

I don't use automatic mode.. and the fan will blast at whatever it's set at 100% regardless of water temp. -20* outside, heat set to 90*, fan set to high.. the fan will run on high from the moment it is started

I can try to check on the automatic mode tomorrow.. those usually do wait for the water to heat up before they crank the fan up, but I can't say for sure whether the C6's do

The A/C system is used as a DE-humidifer in the winter time.

So when the car is started, the A/C kicks on to pull the humidity out of the air, no matter if the heater core is warmed up or not, and request the fan to blow to draw air over the A/C coils from the start.

So yes, the fan will blow before the heater core/engine coolant has warmed up.
