Aftermarket head unit

I just installed a new aftermarket head unit , a Pioneer 7100 NEX, with nav and touchscreen. I hooked everything up and everything functions including the microphone except the microphone. There is a crackking coming from the rear speakers regardless of where I put the volume **** at. Any ideas on what wiring I messed up for this ? It is a non Bose stereo.

I am thinking of the same unit for my 08 Z or the Kenwood DNX892.Check your grounds and make sure they are good and connected.Bad grounds can cause all sorts of issues.Did you add the Sirius/xm tuner ?

I added the Xm tuner also. The ground I used is in the center console next to the shifter, below the plastic piece which I assume is grounded because the parking brake uses the same ground.
