Default c6 rotors

I have a base c6 2009 and I want to replace the stock rotors with drilled rotors. Can't seems to find any from my local parts store. They always say they are for Z51 type. I know the Z51 is different so where can I get a set for my base corvette. Need to buy local so the wife don't see the charges. Lol. Cash purchase.

Do you have a local performance shop you can purchase them through?

I know bear and dba have some, but if you want to spend a little less, I think power stop has some as well.

There is no z51 model C6. The drilled rotors are part of the Z51 OPTION. They will fit on your car but you will need the caliper brackets that are used with them so your calipers will work with the larger diameter rotors.

It says with Z51, so only if you purchase the Z51 brackets to relocate the calipers.

C6 Parts forum is first choice for used parts. Post a WTB for J55 brake brackets. They were part of the Z51 option '05-'09, part of the F55 option '07-'13, and as a stand-alone option '05-'13.

If all you want is drilled rotors and have access to a drill press, I have drill templates to drill your base rotors with the J55 pattern.

You need front and rear. The brackets hold the calipers in place over the rotors. Since the new rotor diameter will be larger the calipers need to be positioned higher which is why you need different brackets.

When I had a 2008 coupe I went with Brake Performance Drilled & slotted rotors & Premium Semi-Metallic pads. It was an awesome combo. Almost no brake dust & completely quiet. It's to bad that you can't/not supposed to do the internet purchase...

I think I need to find a way to get a set from these folks. Found the brackets on ebay for 260 bucks but going with stock size rotors will be a better deal.

So when your profile only shows a male from the US, it gets hard to suggest a place to find parts or service for the "local" purchase.

Apparently, you didn't like the suggestion to post on the forum for used parts. $260 is outrageous even for new brackets when they can be bought for $200. Ebay is not always your low cost source.

I got a set for free from a guy who was switching to J56 calipers. Could have had the rotors for the same price.

I haven't looked around, but if you drive your car a lot, you might consider looking for the stock JL9 rotors that are slotted rather than drilled.

Seems most new high performance brakes are getting rid of a drilled rotors. I have seen many of the drilled rotors suffer from cracking around those little holes.

I have Z51 drilled rotors on my car but it doesn't get driven daily, but if I was replacing I would look for rotors like they put on C7.

I've never seen factory stock slotted rotors on a C6. I don't think that was an option.

I didn't think there was a stock slotted option either?

Correct the factory had no slotted rotors for C6, but slotted rotors in the stock JL9 configuration are available such as these from an online supplier. One might want to consider this option for a non Z51 car, or the Z51 car.
