Default Heater core gone bad need help

Hello all
I have 05 vette an having few problems The heater core is bad. I have new heater core an started to take apart to do it. I need some help. I have a manual now that I got online an it's not very clear on how to disassemble. I have the dash out. I need to know if the intake needs to come off in order to do this or not ?? I'm guessing it does need to come off to reach the the heater core tubes Any help on this would be great This is my first corvette an having all sorts little problems I'm in hopes to get them straighten out by spring. Thank you all for your time. I did do a search an can't find any info on the c6 heater core installation. Have good night !!!)))

Looking quickly at my 2005 service manual...no the engine intake manifold does not need to be removed.

Without more info you mention heater core tube access.
These seem to be attached to the housing and will come out with the box as you lift (wiggle) the box out of the dash and firewall holes.

Good luck.

Isn't there bolts up in behind the intake that need access to get to? What holds the heater core tubes through the firewall. Has anyone done a heater core in the 05? Any help would be great I'm stuck in the middle of doing this an don't wanna take things apart if I don't need to. Thank you

Not trying to make your job worse, but what online manual are you looking at? A few years back there was some scam going on about a very inexpensive online manual, and it wasn't very good compared to the Helms Manual.

You will spend more time trying to get it out with the intake there. The intake comes off in like 15 minutes.

It really would make it easier to do.

Well that looks like a blast

(intake is very easy to remove. If it's in the way, yank it and save yourself the PITA)

I havn't swap one out yet either, and by the looks of it, i hope I never do. rather do the gas tanks lol. If you can't get to it any other way I guess the intake will have to come off. It's pretty quick like DJ said and it will save you from continuing to turn in circles

ok I see. I'm in Quebec but park it early enough not to need the heat but if the windows fogged up without it i guess that wouldn't be very good.

Keep in mind there is a brake vacuum hose that connects on the back of the intake. It gets wedged between a few things so it can make it tough to get the intake to come off sometimes.

See if that's it
