How's it going, guys!!?? First, I'm new to the website and want to thank everybody in advance. I bought a 2008 C6 and love it. It has a cam, Kooks long tube headers and a Kooks catless X-pipe. At idle I get blue smoke. From what I understand, that is caused by the valve seals. I want to get the valve seals done, but I'm not sure what cam is in the car. My questions are, do I need to know which cam is in my car to get the correct valve seals? And I'm I being told correct that I will get the blue smoke at idle with bad valve seals? The car has 55k miles and i don't get any smoke under hard acceleration and the car is very strong. Again, thanks for any info and advice.
Yes that could very well be the seals.
the cam wont change the seals but your current valves springs might. if you have a single spring then you would be best with a oem seal. If you have a double spring set up the base of a stock seal will interfere with the inner spring.
