Default Radiator support bracket.

I store my car on a lift in my shop and when I was inspecting things the other day I saw that my radiator support was broken. I want to fix this but I know its aluminum. Are there any alternatives made out of a stronger metal? I bought the car 2 years ago and I believe it was broke then but could not tell.

Think there aluminum for weight reasons and have never seen aftermarket one. Maybe some one with more info will stop by. Just in case welding don't pan out.

Aluminum welding is not unusual as it was in the past...take it to a welding shop and have it fixed and the welds reinforced...it will be better than a new one. I have never heard of one made of steel instead of aluminum.

Mine was broke on my old car. My son and I removed it and had the local welding shop weld it.

I was thinking about welding it. I have a friend that can weld it for me. I just wanted to see if there were alternatives to the aluminum. I dont plan on going over curbs but when I pull out of my driveway it hits a little even when going at an angle. Thanks for the info.

Part of the weakness of the original part is that the welds are just little tack welds. A good welder can do a much better job and make the part significantly stronger than it was before the break.

Ive never seen one in steel. Mine is broke too. Just have it welded if that's an option.
