I have a 2012 Grand Sport with a LS3 engine. The check engine light goes on and off (First thing I did was replace my gas cap, which did not help).
I took it to an auto parts store so they could put a OBD scanner on it. The code came up P219A Mass Air Flow Sensor. My MAF is a PBT-GF40 (K19 are the other numbers located on the sensor).
I was wondering, before I go buy a new one, if I can clean this type of mass air flow sensor or is this a type that you cannot clean?
If the MAF on the 2010 GS is the same as yours then yes. I cleaned mine frequently with a MAF cleaner I got from AutoZone thinking it was dirt causing the code. It wasn't, it was the aftermarket tune. Once fixed, haven't got code again.
Do a google search for steps to take to fix this code. I recall there were many possible solutions (cylinder leak down test, switch the O2 sensors to see if code follows the sensor, test fuel injectors - I had a bent pin, etc.).
That isn't a MAF airflow sensor error and the part number you stated is actually the material the part is made from, not the part number. Polybutylene terephthalate + 40% glass resin (I work in the plastics industry)
It's a code for fueling corrections ("fuel trims") being maxed out on bank 1.
You need to get a real scanner on it and see what the O2 sensors and fuel trim values are doing to get an idea what the problem is. It could be a vacuum or exhaust leak, clogged fuel injector or O2 sensor issue as a few examples. I'm sure there are other things it could be.
Mixture control. bank 1 - value out of range
Does the car have any aftermarket parts? Is it running the original tune or something else?

Thank you very much, I appreciate the information. Didn't know that was the plastic code! LOL
I do not have any aftermarket parts on my car, its all stock and running the original tune.
Gotcha. Yeah if it's totally stock then there's more than likely a leak (intake air or exhaust), injector issue or O2 sensor issue, in my opinion. Those are my best guesses anyways...

I went to another auto parts store yesterday and you are correct it was a Bank 1 fuel mixture not the mass air flow sensor.
Again thanks for the information.

I do appreciate the information. I want to try and knock out the small stuff before I have to take the car to a mechanic. I think with everyone's help I can fix this issue myself.
